Wimbledon: no car waits at the gate, so the drop and the pickup are the whole job

BACK JUNE 2027The 2026 Championships finished on 12 July. 2027 runs 28 June to 11 July; we take bookings from the spring.

The shape of the day

Built around the drop and the pickup, because the grounds allow neither at the gate. Play times shift with the order of play and the roof.

10:00 AMWe collect you in town. A short run to SW19, but the roads around the club close from half eight, so we plan the last mile carefully.
10:45 AMSet down for the walk in. No car waits at the gate here. We drop at the private-hire point on Wimbledon Park Road, or at Southfields, a clean ten to fifteen minute walk to Church Road.
11:00 AMPlay on the outside courts. Strawberries, an outer-court seat, the grounds at their quietest.
1:00 PMCentre and Number One. The show courts start after one; under the roof they can run well into the evening.
7:00 PMYou tell us when. We hold further out and come back to an agreed point and time, not a hopeful wave at the kerb.
11:00 PMThe curfew, if it runs that far. The roofed courts stop at eleven sharp; that is the biggest crush of the day, and we plan the pickup around it, staggered.
↑ the car cannot wait at the gate. the drop and the pickup point are the whole job.

How we prepare

WHEN YOU BOOK

We are honest that no car waits at the gate here. Unless you hold a debenture with a drop-off pass, the closest legal set-down is the private-hire point on Wimbledon Park Road, or Southfields station, and both mean a short walk. We plan that walk, we do not pretend it away.

THE DAY BEFORE

The roads around the club close from half past eight, so the last mile is planned in detail. We check the order of play and the forecast, because a roofed Centre Court can run to the eleven o'clock curfew and change the whole evening.

ON THE DAY

We drop, then hold well out of the controlled zone. The pickup is a fixed point and a fixed time, staggered off the final game, not a car circling a closed road hoping to spot you.

Honestly, though

The District line is often faster. Southfields is fifteen minutes' walk and, on a busy weekday, beats the car through the closures every time. The honest ideal is often a drop at the station and a walk in, not a fight to the gate.

The car cannot wait outside. There is nowhere legal to sit near the grounds unless you hold a debenture pass. What we sell here is a planned drop and a planned pickup, comfort and certainty, not a car idling at the kerb.

for the fortnight

Tell us your court and day, and we will plan the drop, the walk in and a staggered pickup that misses the curfew crush, with a fixed price.
