How we prepare
We ask what you are wearing. Period dress is the norm here, and delicate nineteen-fifties tailoring does not want two hours creasing in a car seat, so we carry it pressed on a hanger and plan around that. The Central Paddock needs a jacket and tie, if that is your ticket.
Route checked against the A27, which clogs badly on Revival weekend, so we follow the signed approach and not the postcode. We confirm the drop at Car Park D and remind you it is an old airfield, all grass and open sky, so we pack a rug and warn you about heels on the walk in.
The car waits in the free car park, costume bag and a change of shoes aboard. The site closes at seven but the bars run late; we agree the pickup around whichever you are doing.
Honestly, though
There is a paid shuttle from Chichester. The station bus runs late into the evening and, solo, it is cheaper and perfectly good. The car earns its place carrying costume, carrying a group, and sparing you the muddy walk in heels.
The exit off an airfield is slow. One route out, all grass, everyone at once. If you stay for the closing party the car can sit a while; we plan the pickup honestly rather than promise a quick getaway.
